Southern California Fires

I'm sure you've heard, Southern California is in a state of emergency. My family in San Diego has been evacuated and I believe they may lose their homes. Please pray for them.

I live about 20 minutes from one of the fires in Irvine; I attend church in Irvine. I get to the church by 5:00-5:30 on Sunday evenings for music practice. The skies were pretty clear and the air was clean. By the time we were about done with service, close to 10:00 PM. the smell of fire overwhelmed us in the building. I walked outside to find smoke so thick it hurt to open your eyes or breathe.
Today my throat is dry and scratchy, my eyes are hurting and it's just plain miserable. It doesn't look like things are getting better. I was supposed to be at prayer this evening, but it has been cancelled due to the weather and traffic from the fire. Pray that it will end soon and there will be minimal homes burnt and no injuries.

You and your family are in my prayers, Deb. I have a ton of family and friends from San Diego to north of Los Angeles. So far none of them have been evacuated, but it's getting close.

My in-laws live in Irvine, too.
