Props Props Props

I've been very focused on my Photography for the past few weeks. Huge blessing rolling in and I'm am booked for November. Booked booked booked. And it feel so good I could just jump up and down... but I'd probably hurt myself and my pain management doc would probably shoot me. So I'll just smile, really big.

I purchased the below props today on Etsy and I absolutely adore them.

This little guy is going to help me when I have kids in the session... so cute and it's a bee! Love it.

Bloom Workshop Giveaway

Okay, so I entered to win Lot #1 on the Bloom Workshop site and I was so eager to enter that I didn't see that you had to do ONE thing in the list of 4 things to enter... I did them all. LOL

That is how bad I want to win this!! I can't even tell you what this would do for me as a photographer. Jesus, please let it happen. Crossing fingers, praying and praying some more. :)

I heard about Bloom from a photographer who I admire. They couldn't say anything but great things about Bloom and I MUST be a part in this workshop (not in this particular lot) and I've been wanting the actions and packs that are in this giveaway.

So If you're a photographer or just like to take pictures, go to the Bloom site and JOIN IN!

And, btw, their site is just yummy to look at. The colors are gorgeous.

I ♥ Faces Week 51 - Hilarious Outtakes Photo Challenge

I was so excited when I saw what the photo challenge was this week! This is the first one I'm joining and it's been a funny day looking at the other entries.

Loving random shots and just starting my photography business/hobby, I've had quite a few funny shots pop up. I picked one from a session and the rest are from my personal collection of outtakes.

Personally, I find that the outtake shots are some of the best!

Let's begin, these shots were from a head shot photo shoot that I did for a friend. These were not used, but I love them!

This little grouch is my nephew. This was his third birthday and we had just tied settled him down for a few photos with his buddies and he had enough.
Don't ask why but I can tell you what. No this is not a hairy thumb, this is the back of my uncles head. I found this on my camera after a family wedding and ranked it as my #1 strangest photo.

This is also at a family event. My brother and his sweet dog, Lola. She loves giving kisses and was supposed to be posing with my brother, but darn dogs, they just have a mind of their own. Shucks.

Join in and share your Hilarious Outtakes at I Heart Faces!

When I grow up I want to be her...

Okay, so it's a little late for that. The growing up part that is... or is it. Considering I do still have my moments when the crazy 18 year old in me comes out but I quickly draw it back in and act my age. Ha.

Do you know her? No? Well, you are depriving yourself. She is known as the pioneer lady. Married to a cowboy (have I told you I like cowboys? I do.), She cooks with your taste buds in mind and she takes exquisite pictures of anything and everything. AND she loves Nikon. Need I explain more?

I'm sure you're wondering why in the heck I'm talking about the Pioneer Woman like she's the newest celebrity out there or Colin Firth. I find myself turning on my laptop, opening my Explorer (not a Mac girl)and going straight to my favorites and there before me is what I am aiming for - http://www.thepioneerwoman.com/ . Treat yourself to a few minutes on this site and maybe you to will want to grow up to be her... trust me. Her recipes are mouth watering with full photo details and her writing is sarcastically funny.

I think the below is one of her easiest recipes, it doesn't hurt that it consist of chocolate and peanut butter. Two of my favorite combinations. I'm going to throw this one together tomorrow and not share. Okay, so I have to share since once the house smells peanut butter they'll come running.

Now I'm headed off to roam the Pioneer Woman's site do some much needed cleaning.

" just can't do it" and other work related stuff.

Okay... so I tried to take a nice long break, since I was doing that unintentionally anyways, but I'm having blog withdrawals. :/
I've been blogging for too long to say goodbye now and my other blog for my photography is not up yet and I'm not sure when it will be, so I MUST post something here.

So Goodbye is still pending. :-)

::

Today is a big milestone for me... well yesterday was, but officially celebrating today. I have been with my company for 5 (long long long) years. 5 years! Me, the fickle person who can't decide on anything, has kept with something for 5 years. 5 days a week I've seen the same people (well same handful of people). Of course my job has changed and my check has gotten bigger, but I feel like I've been doing the same thing.

First off, let me say, I love my job atmosphere. I really do. The people are good to work with and I've been blessed beyond measure with good boss'.

I just wish, every day, that I could go back to being self employed. Once you have a taste of the freedom of 'bossing' yourself around, nothing quite matches up.

I can honestly say that I don't want to be here another 5 years. If God so wills, I pray that I am full fledged, knee dip in photography by this time next year. I can only hope.

So happy 5 year anniversary to me. God's truly been good to me.

::

Now to my second job/hobby. Photography.

Who would have thought that I'd get so into this? Not me. I.absolutely.love. taking pictures. Especially of people.

I've learned so much over the past couple of weeks and I can't wait to share some of the sessions I've done recently. I'm booked through Christmas! (little girly squeal)

Here's a little sneak peak:

Sigh! This girl is happy.

Goodbye...

Goodbye blog...
Who likes goodbyes? Not me. And this one is no different.

There is too much going on and I've neglected my poor blog for far too long. I'm not going to cancel it, but just take a break.

To add to my full plate, I am having a Photo blog/site designed and will be on that blog most of the time that I have free. (I'll post that link when it's up)

So long for now...

Not a photographer... yet

You know, or most of you know, that I take family photos on the side. Not a business, but more of a hobby. I am so far from a professional photographer that I won't even say that I'm a "Photographer". I would really like to, but I feel like a fraud. I picked out a name so I can be on the road towards a business, Bumble Photography. I don't have an obsession with bees as you may think. My name means "bee" and I've always liked the cartoon look of them, hence the blog name and now the business/hobby name. Anyway, I was asked to do a shoot for a babies 1st birthday and for the family. I actually grew up with the "dad" and we were always really good friends and pretty close but kinda drifted apart through the years. He has a beautiful family and the sweetest little girl. I was so excited once the "mom" told me that the "baby" liked the beach.

What is better than a June photo shoot at the beach... the weather was perfect and the lighting was just right.

I loved how the photos came out and as soon as the shoot was done I got the itch to try to get this ball rolling... yet again.

So after my sister's wedding, I am going to get a website going (from the Design Girl because she's incredibly awesome at this) and jumping full force into this thing I call "hobby". I pray it works out as planned... :)

Fab Friday

If you don't know what Fab Friday is, click on the button and join Danielle at Well, That's Just Fabulous!

This weeks Fab Friday is...
I too, like Danielle, love old photos. I wish I was home or even had time to dig through the ones that I love, but was so lucky to have some of my favorites already scanned online!

This photo is framed and on my desk at work. I.love.it. This was taken in the early years of my mom and dad's relationship, almost 40 years ago. The sailor and Kelly girl.

This weekend will mark two years since my Grandma passed away; of course the grief of her leaving has lessened over the years and been replaced by memories with a once in a while moment of sadness. But in honor of her, I wanted to post my two favorite photos.

My Grandma with me and my siblings. I'm the one crying because I probably didn't get my way.
The day I was born. My Grandma is looking on in the background. I love this photo.

I love my camera and I take it pretty much everywhere important. I've been so bad at updating my photo blog. so bad. This photo is California all the way. A day at the beach, soaking up the sun with my sisters, Heaven on earth.

Have a FABULOUS Friday and weekend!

Family Photo Session

I did a family photo session with a family in my church. They have four beautiful girls who I just love. We had so much fun, tons of laughter and craziness. Definitely not your normal professional shoot since I am so close to them. I was able to say, "Knock it off" "Be quiet" "Pay attention" "Open your eyes!" "Look at me not at them!" lol. I'm sure a stranger would take it well if I told their kid, "Shut up and look at me!", something I probably should work on. =)

You can click on the images to enlarge. Feel free to give me feedback, I'm always looking for encouragement or to improve!

It's a Crazy World

Goodness! It's been over one week since I last posted. I haven't even been keeping up with my photo blog like I KNEW would happen.

Life is busy, I haven't had one free night this week. Monday we had ladies prayer at my house, so good! Tuesday we have community groups, at my home. Wednesday - It was my week to teach the kiddos at church. I had a mini breather on Thursday, got a much needed pedi and then had to pack for the weekend.

I'll be a little lonely the next week and 1/2. My sis is left for an adventurous trip and I am already feeling a little lonely... okay a lot lonely. =( But I'll survive.

::

What else? I am supposed to be on Weight Watchers but I.can't.get.motivated. Maybe tomorrow... but then again there is too much going on... (shame, shame, shame).

Since we're on the subject of food. I must share this recipe for the BEST stuffed mushrooms. You cannot get any easier than this. Look at the picture... drool a little and then make it yourself! You will love them.

RECIPE

Button mushrooms, cleaned with edge of stem cutoff and stems removed (and saved)

Filling:(approx)
8 oz Cream Cheese
2 tbs of bacon bits
2 tbs of green onion
2 tbs of chopped mushrooms stems
3 tbs of shredded cheddar cheese (I use sharp)

~Fill mushrooms and place on baking sheet. Cover (sort of smoosh down) with chedder cheese

~Put in oven at 375 for 10 minutes or until cheese is starting to brown on top.

~You can add anything else that you think you make it better - Onions, garlic, spices...

Get ready for a party for the buds!

Onto other news, I did my first family shoot on Saturday! I had some families at my church approach me about doing their family photos after seeing my cousins photos that I did for Christmas. I was so excited because, of course, I now had JW and we can really get some great shots with his help. (Reminder to self: stop referring to your camera as a "him".) I'll share some of the photos once I get the "ok" from the family.

I did it - The Daily Photo

I finally, after who knows how long, had the opportunity and time to start a Photo Blog! I am going to sign up with a daily photo organization, but for now, it's just for fun.

You can find random pics of my town and beyond. Maybe I'll sneak in a few random portrait shots... who knows.

So, if your interested in photography or just like looking at pictures, the latter is better since I am no professional, link me or stop by and tell me what you think.

Christmas Pictures - My Brothers and Sisters

My cousin took some group pictures of us to be blown up for the parents.

I took a few photos of my brother and sister in law... My brother Peter is a camera hog. He loves taking pictures, if he had his way I would be following him around with a camera.

We always take pictures with each other, each sister with a brother or sister and sister. I love this picture of Peter and Catherine.

That morning we weren't really looking forward to getting dressed and running around outside in the cold with mountain lions roaming the hills... okay the last one was an isolated fear of mine. What would you expect with big signs saying "At your own risk". We ended up having fun and enjoying the incredible location.

Christmas Pictures

I took some pictures of my cousin Eileen and her family this past weekend for Christmas. Cristian, her son, is the funniest kid to photograph. He has so much character and does exactly what you tell him. These were my favorite shots, I thought they came out pretty good...
