Diary of a mad... little girl

I've always kept a diary. Since I could piece together words, even though no one else could understand them, I would write down my thoughts and feelings.

For some reason family members always gave me diaries or journals (I figure they're the same thing with two different names). When I turned fifteen, my paternal Grandparents (Gramms & Gramps) gave me a diary with a lock and key. When you're fifteen, you need a diary with a lock and key... and if you have two brothers in the house, you needed a safe place to store it. Of course, no matter where I hid it, it would go missing and show up under my brother's bed when his friends were over. *cringe*.

At some point as a little girl I got this diary... my very first.

I wrote down problems such as...

I was scared of two things, one being '... when I go on the pot. That sumthing will bit [bite] my botom.' Okay, first off, who calls the toilet the pot? lol apparently I did.

In reference to a friends diary, 'she told me she had a wrell [real] nice wan [one] But mine is nice too well I better go.'

'I like my mom and I dont like my friend's sayn [saying] bad words and I like my dad.' What a good girl I was! *proud me moment*

'What a day I had, were goging [going] to yereka [Eureka] and I had to pack all buy my self.' What a difficult life I led.

This entry was the kicker that made me want to post this... even now I am laughing and can hear my little girl voice.

This one entry speaks to what I am even today! Jumping from one thing to the next is what I do best. haha.

'Touday I went to church. there was lots of kids and viseters [visitors] We hade Donits and milk. Then we made hands out of mantanel (I have no clue what that is) then we had kids cawier [choir]. We had to sing the cors [chorus] that was kind of in Barisin [embarrassing] alote in Barisin. My mom sher [sure] gets mad when I Dount [don't] miend [mind] sotimes I wish I could go shoping but my mom won't.'

If this interest no one else, I know my family would find this extremely interesting.haha. Walking down memory lane can sometimes be no fun, the past is the past... but looking back can be a real eye opener...

I'm sure that deep thought concerning the 'pot' will come in handy some day. ;)

Fabulous Friday - Candy

Danielle at That's Just Fabulous is starting a new Friday themed post...

I signed up to join and let you all in on my choice for FABULOUS CANDY. Okay so truth be told, I am not a big candy person. I prefer chocolate. BUT there is one candy that I just can't help but eat.
As a little girl, I used to eat these like crazy while my lips and tounge turned red and I begged for water. As a young teenager, I would rub the candy on my lips to make them turn red; the things you resort to when you have pale lips and can't wear lipstick! Beyond all that, they tasted so good.

Bittersweet Thoughts

The last couple of months have been life changing and the months to come will bring even more changes. Good and bad. Bittersweet changes.

My sister, by dearest friend, is leaving on a journey all her own. Far, far away from me and everything she's ever known. She can't wait while we (most of my family and I) hold back the feeling of despair and sadness. Wow, this is a gloomy post. I should have warned you before you got this far. =)

She is the closest person to me and I am the closest person to her. But it won't be like that in a matter of weeks. Someone else will take that place and I could not be happier... yet I can't help but be sad for the changes that life brings.

I'll give more details as time goes on, but for now, things are so busy and there really isn't much to post about. So if I disappear, you know where I went. You can keep up with me on my Twitter updates to the right... whoever invented this deserves an extra piece of cake.

Oh yes, do you like my new format? I wasn't sure about the three columns but it's growing on me...

In other parts of my life...

I'm currently working on:
  • My 300th post (not too exciting lol)
  • Planning a baby shower for this Saturday and I'm so unorganized
  • Fighting the strep virus that I think is knocking on my door

That's my life today.

I love you Disney

I came across an old Disney video of an attraction that was removed a long time ago... Can I go down memory lane for this post? I must share this with you because if you haven't seen Captain EO, took a trip on the People Mover or sat through The Country Bear Jamboree... you missed out.

My Disneyland
I grew up at Disneyland. Literally. I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again. My mom and dad bought us passes ever year growing up. We would go 2 to 3 times a week. Sometimes after school for dinner and one ride or show. We usually went on Pirates of the Caribbean, the Jungle Cruise, It's a Small World, saw The Country Bears or Captain EO after dinner at the French Market or The Blue Bayou, Our favorite restaurant.

I miss the good ol' days of Captain EO. I remember sitting in the theater with my 3D classes on, peeking through as the scary parts came on and trying to touch the little animals as they came up to your face. It was always cold in the theater and when we left I always had a good "the world is right" feeling. Even to this day I can hear the ending song and feel warm and fuzzy. I think it was the idea of evil conquering good ( <-My sister pointed this out... lol) GOOD conquering EVIL... I'm sure it had nothing to do with *Michael Jackson.
Part 1

Part 2

The people mover was also another great attraction that I miss!

The Country Bear Jamboree... sigh... I miss it so much! Why oh why did they have to stop this?
Part 1

What were some of your favorite past time or present time Disney rides, attractions and restaurants? I'm curious to know...

I Have Three!

I am having a moment of nostalgia. Maybe it's the "women emotions" or it could be the fact that I looked in the mirror and thought, how am I aging so fast, where's that young skin elasticity? Is it just me or does my chin look lower? Where is the time going?

Either way, I found these pictures of me with my sisters. Let me just tell ya, these girls rock! I would rather be with them than anyone else. We have the same interest, there's really no odd ball out here, and we all love to spend time together. But it wasn't always like that...

When I was younger my sister Catherine and cousin (who I've adopted as my sister) Eileen always hung out together. They fought, laughed, shared secrets, egged each other on and spent every moment together - all with me hanging underfoot whining and crying that I WAS old enough to go out with them.

Catherine and Eileen

Eileen's Grad Party - 1972 (haha, more like 1991 ?)

Once I jumped into the teenage years, I was invited in. Oh joy! But I must say, I still had to run the errands and was told, "You tell mom or dad and you're busted." Do you want in on a lil' secret, most of the time I did end of spilling the beans, most of it was too good to keep inside my thirteen year old head.

When I was seventeen, my brother met a girl that I just-did-not-like. The first time I saw her I think I stared, said a quick "Hi' and moved on. She was eighteen, skinny little thing with lots of hair. Her name was Sonia and she would never leave me alone again. Of course I fell in love her too, it took some time, but it happened.

Now that we are all adults we can relate so much better and the years melt away, most of the time. Sisters are truly the best gifts, everyone deserves one. How blessed I am to have three!!!
